Why Virgin?

Hair shaft penetration

Lauric acid molecules are small enough to enter the hair cortex — virtually unique to coconut oil.

Reduces protein loss

Pre-wash coconut treatment reduces hair protein loss by up to 39% (Rele & Mohile, 2003).

Body emollient

Solid at <24°C, melts on contact with skin. Ideal Ayurvedic abhyanga oil.

Edible-grade

Same oil for oil pulling, cooking, or topical use — true food-grade integrity.

How to use

  1. Pre-wash treatment: warm 2 tbsp, apply scalp-to-tips, leave 30 min, shampoo
  2. Body oil: post-shower on damp skin, melts and absorbs
  3. Oil pulling: 1 tsp swished for 10-20 min before brushing teeth
  4. Cooking: medium-heat sauté or baking
  5. Solidifies below 24°C — totally normal, melts in palm

Common questions

Why does it solidify?

Coconut oil's melting point is 24°C. In cool weather it's solid; in warm weather it's liquid. Both states are identical in quality.

Will it cause acne on my face?

Coconut oil has a comedogenic rating of 4 — high risk of breakouts on face. Use only on body, hair, or scalp.

Is virgin really different from regular coconut oil?

Yes. Regular (refined) coconut oil has lauric acid but lacks polyphenols, has been deodorized, and won't show the hair penetration benefits.

Best time to apply to hair?

2-4 hours before washing. Overnight is fine but not necessary.

About Coconut Virgin Oil

Virgin coconut oil is cold-pressed from fresh coconut meat — never copra, never refined. Its small lauric-acid molecules are the reason it does something most oils can't: penetrate the hair shaft itself.

Brewoil's virgin coconut is cold-pressed and lab-verified, with the fresh, faint coconut aroma of a genuinely unrefined oil.

Benefits of Coconut Virgin Oil

Research shows coconut oil reduces protein loss from hair during washing — the root cause of much everyday damage. That makes it the definitive pre-wash treatment for dry, damaged or chemically-treated hair.

On the body it is a classic moisturiser and the traditional cooling massage oil for summer months.

How to Use Coconut Virgin Oil

For hair: warm a tablespoon, massage into scalp and lengths 1–2 hours before washing (or overnight), then shampoo. For skin: apply a thin layer on damp skin.

Who It's For

Coconut suits dry, damaged, thick and chemically-treated hair, and dry body skin. Low-porosity hair that turns stiff with coconut should switch to almond or argan. Patch test first.
